Cinquante ans apr\u00e8s son apparition au Salon de Paris 1975, la Lotus Esprit S1 refait surface sous une forme radicale. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 britannique Encor Design d\u00e9voile la Series 1, un restomod qui fusionne le design l\u00e9gendaire de Giorgetto Giugiaro avec la puissance brute d&rsquo;un V8 biturbo moderne. Seulement 50 exemplaires. Prix : 500 000 \u20ac. Mais que cache vraiment cette renaissance ultra-exclusive ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une renaissance pens\u00e9e par des experts de l&rsquo;excellence automobile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;Encor Series 1 n&rsquo;est pas un simple projet de garage. Derri\u00e8re ce restomod se cache Simon Lane, ancien directeur de Lotus Advanced Performance et ex-responsable des programmes Valkyrie et Valhalla chez Aston Martin. Son \u00e9quipe ? D&rsquo;anciens ing\u00e9nieurs de Pagani, Koenigsegg et Porsche. L&rsquo;expertise au service de la l\u00e9gende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le point de d\u00e9part ? Une Lotus Esprit V8 de la fin des ann\u00e9es 90, enti\u00e8rement d\u00e9mont\u00e9e puis reconstruite autour d&rsquo;une carrosserie monocoque en fibre de carbone. Fini le polyester fragile d&rsquo;origine : chaque surface reprend les proportions mythiques de la S1, mais avec une pr\u00e9cision chirurgicale impossible en 1975. Les phares escamotables restent pr\u00e9sents, d\u00e9sormais \u00e9quip\u00e9s de projecteurs LED ultra-compacts. Les jantes ? Une r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation moderne des designs Lotus, forg\u00e9es pour supporter la performance contemporaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">400 chevaux dans moins de 1 200 kg : les chiffres qui tuent<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sous la robe en carbone bat un c\u0153ur gonfl\u00e9 \u00e0 bloc. Le V8 3.5 biturbo d&rsquo;origine passe \u00e0 la moulinette : pistons forg\u00e9s, turbocompresseurs revus, injecteurs surdimensionn\u00e9s, cartographie \u00e9lectronique moderne. R\u00e9sultat : environ 400 ch et 478 Nm de couple. Avec un poids cibl\u00e9 sous 1 200 kg, l&rsquo;Encor Series 1 promet un 0 \u00e0 100 km\/h en 4 secondes et une vitesse maximale de 282 km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La bo\u00eete manuelle \u00e0 5 rapports, historiquement le talon d&rsquo;Achille de l&rsquo;Esprit, a \u00e9t\u00e9 enti\u00e8rement repens\u00e9e en collaboration avec Quaife : nouveaux rapports, arbre renforc\u00e9, diff\u00e9rentiel autobloquant \u00e0 engrenages h\u00e9lico\u00efdaux, embrayage bi-disque sur-mesure. Fini les frustrations m\u00e9caniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Analogique dehors, technologie dedans : un \u00e9quilibre subtil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;habitacle respecte l&rsquo;ADN de la S1 : planche de bord inclin\u00e9e, si\u00e8ges individuels, inserts en tartan \u00e9cossais. Mais tout est reconstruit avec des mat\u00e9riaux contemporains. Le clou du spectacle ?
